The Bench

Pull up a seat.

Before Main Street, before the bucket and the windows, there was a bench — and an old man who did not rush a boy who was losing.

Life keeps happening. You do not have to figure all of it out by yourself.

Some days you need perspective. Some days you need somebody to challenge you. Some days you know exactly what to do, but you need help making yourself do it. And sometimes you simply need a place to slow everything down and hear the right voice again.

That is The Bench.

The Bench is the ongoing Life’s Operating System experience. There is no single fight you have to solve and no finish line you have to reach. You bring your life as it is happening - the decisions, frustrations, opportunities, relationships, doubts, wins and setbacks.

Over time, LOS gets to know you. It learns what you are building, what matters to you, where you struggle, what patterns keep appearing and which voices tend to get your attention.

Then it helps you work through life using the principles and Standards of Life’s Operating System.

Not by telling you how to live. By helping you become better at leading yourself.

I built this because I believe most of us already know far more than we live. We do not always need another answer. Sometimes we need help hearing the answer we already know and having the courage to act on it.

For $49 USD a month, you can keep a seat on The Bench and keep doing that work.

Come when you need it. Talk things through. Learn yourself. Build your voice. And when life gets noisy, come back and sit down again.

Who you are sitting with

Uncle Mitch takes the long view. He is the one who asks the question underneath your question, and he is in no hurry. When you are about to quit something you should stay in, he is the voice that says stay a little longer.

Michel is closer to where you actually are. He is still learning it, still doing it badly some days, still getting up. When you know the right answer and cannot make yourself do it, he is the more useful one to talk to.

Uncle Mitch and Michel are characters from Stay A Little Longer, voiced by software built on the book. No one is reading this on the other end. You are not being handed a worksheet — you are being asked better questions than you would ask yourself.

The book ends at Uncle Mitch’s grave, with one conversation unfinished. This is built from the pages he is in. It is not a claim that he is still here.

What this is not

It is not therapy and it is not a replacement for a doctor, a counselor, or a pastor. If you are in crisis right now, please reach out: 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988, or chat 988lifeline.org. Free, 24/7.

It is also not finished. Founding members get in early, at the founding price, and help shape what it becomes.

The real win is not always that the fight is finished. The real win is knowing you can stay. Nobody can take that from you.
